ircd-hybrid 7.0.2 does not perform logging via syslog

Hi,

I get a problem with logging via syslog(3).
I've compiled ircd-hybrid-7.0.2 from FreeBSD ports (FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE):

cd /usr/ports/irc/ircd-hybrid
make -DUSE_SYSLOG install

Than I've added two strings in syslog.conf:
!ircd
*.*				/var/log/ircd.log

In ircd.conf file in section `logging' I set `log_level' parameter to L_DEBUG.

Than 
killall -HUP syslogd.

But when I'm trying to start/stop ircd daemon I find /var/log/ircd.log empty.

Please help me to find the reasons of such issue.
