[hybrid] failing to link

Hi,

I'm migrating our internal IRC server to another machine and want to connect the
old and new servers during the process. The old server is running ircd-hybrid6,
the new, ircd-hybrid7. I'm obviously doing something wrong in the config as I
keep getting the error

   Attempt to re-introduce server *.com SID from [unknown at kodak.xxx.com]

The config in the new server (bream.internal.xxxxx.com/10.1.204.38) says:

connect {
         name = "kodak.xxx.com";
         host = "172.26.0.14";
         send_password = "password";
         accept_password = "password";
         port = 6667;
         aftype = ipv4;
         class = "server";
};

The config in the old server (kodak.xxx.com/172.26.0.14) says:

C:10.1.204.38:password:bream.internal.xxxxx.com:6667:2
N:10.1.204.38:password:bream.internal.xxxxx.com:2:2

In the new server (bream), I see the following output:

   bream.internal.xxxxx.com! Attempt to re-introduce server *.com SID from
                 | [unknown at kodak.xxx.com]

In the old (kodak), I see:

    kodak.xxx.com! Connection to bream.internal.xxxxx.com activated.
    kodak.xxx.com! Server bream.internal.xxxxx.com[unknown at 255.255.255.255]
                 | closed the connection
    kodak.xxx.com! bream.internal.xxxxx.com had been connected for 0 days,
                 | 0:00:01

The "unknown at 255.255.255.255" looks somewhat suspect but, frankly, I am devoid
of clue. Am I doing something laughably stupid (as is often the way)? Or can you
  shed some light on where I'm going wrong?

Many thanks,

Alex.
