Crypthost ip

Rachel,

The IRC daemon ircu2 used in conjunction with srvx also has a similar user
mode option. However it seems to work effectively even on large networks
(GameSurge) for example it when the user authenticates with services
(generally AuthServ) it will mask their hostname with handle.user.gamesurge.
Obviously this is an ineffective method however for users that do not wish
to register with global services.

Regards,

Alan

Jack,

It seemed as if he wanted host masking/cloaking similar to Unreal
IRCd's +x user mode. Of course spoofs would work, but you would need
to predetermine all the addresses of your users. It works on small
networks, but not larger ones where opers don't know everyone.
