[hybrid] Linking 7/8 with cryptlink/SSL?

Hi,

Is there any way to link a Hybrid 7.2 server with a Hybrid 8 server
securely? On the face of it they are completely different protocols,
as far as I can see. What migration strategies are people using in
this situation with networks of 7.x and 8.x servers?
